“After talking it over with the people, Jehoshaphat appointed a choir for God; dressed in holy robes, they were to march ahead of the troops, singing, Give thanks to God, His love never quits. As soon as they started shouting and praising, God set ambushes against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir as they were attacking Judah, and they all ended up dead.” 2 Chronicles 20:21-23 (Message)
The people knew that in the physical realm they were outnumbered, but they had God. They kept their eyes on Him and knew that He would fight this battle. I love in this verse how it says that Jehoshaphat appointed a choir for God to march ahead of the troops singing and giving thanks to God. Wow! How often do we approach our battles that way, with praise and thanksgiving? I know for me it is not always my first reaction. But if we truly believe God is who He says He is and that His promises are true then we should go onto the battlefield with praise and worship. Giving thanks to the Lord for He has already secured the victory.
